Christmas Shopping Poem contest entry

My Procrastination Situation

by DragonSkulls

Twas the day before Christmas
and all through the store
were last minute shoppers
and crazies galore.

Here I'll have to admit
I waited too long
and too put off shopping
while knowing it's wrong.

With one console left,
a gift for my boy,
a PlayStation 5
I knew he'd enjoy.

The clerk opened the case.
Its style was unique.
I got pushed aside
by some gamer freak.

He grabbed the last console.
I pushed him right back,
but what happened next...
that wacko attacked.

Twas the day before Christmas
as I flew through the air
and the movie display
was thrashed everywhere.

He instantly vanished
like night to the dawn,
and he and my gift
were magically gone.

There I waited in anguish
for cops to arrive.
So my son got a card...
no PlayStation 5.
