Faith Flash
Faith
by zanya
Faith frequently comes up as a theme on Fanstory. Without fail, I read the entries. I am intrigued by other peoples’ experience of Faith, especially those who have a deep and profound Faith. How I wish I had that deep Faith. And when we say Faith, it is understood to be Faith in God, a Higher Power.
Having been born into a family of believers, Faith has accompanied me on my journey so far. Giving thanks when life is sweet and asking for help when times are tough might describe my Faith attitude. It doesn’t really come across as a compelling belief system, more like a bargaining chip in life’s lottery.
Nevertheless, I journey on, holding tight to my flimsy Faith. But it is better than no Faith at all. I can’t imagine how I would face life’s most serious challenges without Faith to lean on. It also enables me to ‘let go’ so to speak. When darkness descends, metaphorically speaking, and I have pulled every lever at my disposal to resolve the life challenge and none of them appear to work, it is then I resort to ‘letting go’ and ‘letting God’, leaving the resolution to a Higher Power. Yes, and often that gesture is what brings a resolution. Of course I don’t know if God stepped in to my life and relieved my burden or not, but somehow a resolution unfolded.
In the Bible it does say that ‘If you have Faith the size of a mustard seed..you can move mountains.’ (Matthew 17: 20-21)Now that is a significant statement.
My Faith is probably smaller than the proverbial mustard seed.
And mustard trees are huge despite the size of their seeds.
So who knows? maybe my Faith will grow into a much bigger and more profound belief.
