Tis The Season and Not so Jolly

Four Letter Words

by Debi Pick Marquette

It would be nice to STOP the snow

About the time it's going to blow

More than an inch is just absurd

And snow is a four letter word

I really do despise the ice

To drive or walk, I’ll be precise

In traffic I have had close calls

And I've taken my share of falls

I do so hate the frigid cold

Before your time it makes you old

The minus zero winds I've heard

And cold is a four letter word

The winter I don't do with ease

It always tends to make me freeze

Who needs Jack Frost to deck the halls

Let's kick him in his cold snow balls

I needed to have a little silly fun today. And what better way to have it is to complain about the frigid cold. I really don't hate winter as badly as my fictional poem would have you think, but I do live in Minnesota, the third coldest state in US, and we can see windchill temps as cold as minus 50 degrees F. So extreme temps call for extreme humor. LOL
