Emotions at war
Hope and Rage
Every day starts out exactly the same
Hope eternal but knowing I'll see his name
As the headline that greets my eyes
Really makes it tough to even rise
Feeling the rage begin before I begin
Scanning and panning, I know he'll win
Dispiriting to know that millions turn away
From the lessons of historic yesterday
