Free At Last

Chained by the sins of others, left me a prisoner of childhood……

Memories burned into me causing me not to soar…….

Locked in a cage my mind replays the slideshow of memories…….

Throughout the years, as I sat alone, fighting to break the chains one by one……

I became stronger and my wings began to form……

Finally, the day came, I no longer allowed the sins of others to keep me grounded……

To finally be free, the key to my cage was forgiveness…….

Given whole heartily, even though it wasn’t asked for…….

Breaking the last chain, as the door to my cage opened…...

I flew out into the blue sky, freedom was mine…...

 Haven’t stopped flying since that day…...freedom from the past….

My reward....to myself…...one lost soul…... flying at last.
