Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
Life in the outback, racial tensions.

My Color Is Different,

by Rick Gardner

The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.
Got lost again today, ran with out delay,
Decided I need to go away,
Find a road, follow the line,
Left a note, not wanting to whine.

You know the path, it is not new,
Leads down to the river, very blue,
Found others, an angry bunch,
I prayed this was just a hunch.

Words of dislike, words of hate,
Should be home, it is getting late,
Threw me in the river,  I was to drown,
A croc came, pulled me under, down, down,

I was not one of them, a different color,
A disgrace I was, see him smother,
Watch, laugh, shout names, go under,
Swam away, the rain came, then thunder.

Lost in a lost world of disgrace,
Lost where I live, a lonely place,
Rise up, tell who you are, a premonition,
No longer a loser, one with certain determinations.
