A comical look at the produce of cows

The life of a pint of milk!

by Peter Jarvis

From Colin the cow to bottle, what a ride,

A pint of milk on the chilly aisle side

Perched on the shelf, feeling quite grand

Until I see Mrs Brown's gloved right hand.

Into the trolley, jostled and bounced

Next to some smelly cheese I flounced

Home now in the fridge to relax and chill

Dreaming of cereal, oh what a thrill!

Out for coffee, a latte in sight

Mixed with espresso, feeling just right

But wait, Lordy, Lordy what a fate

Why must I always have this expiration date?

Left too long, a moment so grim,

Now I’m chunky, my life pitifully slim

But fret not, for in my sad demise

I’ll be composted, and say hi to the flies

So here’s to milk, in all its stages

A journey, worthy of these Fanstory pages.

From Colin the cow to your morning fast

Go on, have a cuppa whilst I last
