The funniest Joke

by Margo Violet Beam

Where was God when I was formed?

So on point yet off the board

Somewhere wandering left field

Every time I propose an understanding

it all gets snatched from beneath my feet

and I am left wandering

somewhere out there in a daze

I am not scared to die

I do not wish to live,

nor to expire

Just to pluck each string resolutely

resonant with the I in me

Who is often buried

beneath ragged clothing which

I am becoming

The monster she taunted herself by

 threats of metamorphosis

Given the choice,

I have seen a small amount of what this world has to offer

it’s brutal

 its cold.

on a beautiful summers day- all is right and sound in the round

In a harsh winter storm

the nights are long

the day only briefly casts the suns’ shine on my face

You are penniless and alone with a heart that beats strong

memories of past affairs,  new lovers, and mysterious  creatures

The ghost of your father speaks to you from the stars

Asks if you care yet

No,  tis a sorrowful ordeal

I think Ive learned the lesson this time

Now I wouldn’t mind moving on.

I think I get it -

Yes, yes you’re very funny.

May we now proceed

with the serious business?

Yes that’s what I said

Well now what is it that is so damned funny allmighty?

When you look at the world

do you see the glow ?

the sparkle?

The shimmering magic

pulsating within it all

When you see it

 enjoy it

and be grateful for it will

go away

 most definitely

Live with it.

Laugh about it.

Man that creator. Funny sense of fucking humor.
