Hannah had a mind of her own

Hannah and Rob

by NanaGaye

Hannah and Rob were like sister and brother

They really did depend on each other

Hannah for the food and going for a walk

Rob for someone to have a good talk

Most times to his work he took her along

But one person said ‘In our office dogs don’t belong.’

Rob told Hannah ‘You can’t come with me today.’

When I come home we’ll go out and play

But Hannah had another plan

Through the back door out she ran

Rob grabbed her and said ‘Come here please?

Stay inside while I get my keys.’

Hannah settled down like an obedient dog

Alas, there was a problem for our man Rob

For his keys he searched everywhere

He phoned an expert who had the right gear.

Though it cost Rob lots of money.

When he got the bill it wasn’t funny.

Several days later out in his yard

Rob noticed soft soil where the rest was hard.

He had a good look and got a surprise

His car keys lay there before his eyes.
