Nighttime Scenery

Nighttime

by Cecilia A Heiskary

Moon shines a bright glowing orb
Lighting up the darkness of night
Sometimes it's a lot to absorb
Walking in the shadows can give a fright

The stars light up the sky
The milky way to the left
Walking at night makes me high
Noises behind me, could be a theft

The November nights are upon us
The days are shorter now
A cool breeze is blowing, a jacket a must
In the distance I hear a cow

The farmers have been working the plows
Harvesting this years crop
When the weather allows
Hurrying before they stop

The nighttime creatures creep in the brush
The owl is hooting in the tree
Rabbits are scared the owl will crush
Run, bunny, run so you can stay free

The coyotes are howling in the fields
Looking for their next meal
If they have patience they'll get their yield
The moon lights the way making it real

The night sky is calm and clear
The bright moon lights the sky
It looks like I spot a group of deer
Wandering aimlessly, I wonder why?

The night creatures have settled down
Found somewhere to bed down for the night
Night creatures stay out of the town
Humans give them quite a fright

The moon shines bright way up high
A big glowing moon in the sky
The creatures are hidden and will not die
As the moon shines bright in the sky

I am a nature lover as most of you know by now. I love the nighttime in the country there is so much to see and hear.
