The Joy that Matures with Every Christmas
Giving
Getting older with every Christmas
I feared they'd grow duller
Yet I feel something new
With a heart much fuller
As a child, I only knew of gifts of being given
Now is the gift of giving, I've come to live in
The wonder of extravagant toys has faded
Replaced by a new found joy, long awaited
The joy of another receiving my love
In a way only my creative love could think of
So with every year, I once again learn
Like my gifts to others, true love is not earned
And the love felt from sight of another's face
Need not the day of Christmas to take place
