Surprise Me Story contest entry
The Kidnapping
by DragonSkulls
I was being kidnapped. My captors and I were six thousand feet in the air on a small, single engine plane to God knows where. I could only assume it was for a huge chunk of my parent's wealth, being Hollywood bigwigs and all.
They snatched me while I was sleeping. Broke in, chloroformed me and I woke up just as the plane was taking off. I figured we were still over US soil on the ascent.
You learn many things when your dad's been in numerous action movies. One being how to spot a parachute in a dire, plummeting airplane scene. That along with some seriously bad-ass fighting skills that actually do work in real life when executed accurately. Just ask some of my high school bullies from a few years back.
Dad also had access to countless different weapons he had to learn for movie parts. Needless to say, I did as well. Two guys had simple Beretta 92XI hand guns and the third had a powerful CMP9 smg. (submachine gun.) I never dealt with live ammo before but it was going down. Why they didn't tie my hands and legs and blindfold me was a mystery but I didn't raise the issue.
I already spotted the parachutes and designed a plan. Luckily we hit some turbulence and CMP9 man turned to bitch at the pilot. That was my chance. I leapt up, savagely kicking the closest guy's head into the plane's steel girder, grabbing his Beretta on the way. I popped two rounds into machine gun man's back while diving in his direction. I caught his weapon as he fell. I was upright and aiming before the last guy even had his pistol unholstered. I advised it wouldn't be a good idea to even attempt his intentions. He agreed and slowly placed his gun on the floor.
I yanked a parachute from the shelf, put it on and slid the plane's side door open, the whole time keeping my aim trained on my last abductor. Then I lined myself up and fell backward into the sky.
Racing toward the city lights, I calculated when to pull the ripcord. I landed on the top of a Shell gas station. I guess the airplane people radioed ahead because almost instantly a black SUV came tearing into the parking lot. I doubted if they still wanted to catch me for ransom money because the four guys that jumped out started shooting at me. Probably a little pissed that I killed one of their co-workers on the plane.
I dropped from the side of the roof and jumped into a Mustang someone left running while they went inside. I fishtailed out of the lot with the tires smoking. The SUV was right on my ass.
I didn't have a clue where I was while weaving in and out of traffic at eighty miles an hour. Bullets blew out the windows as I raced. I turned left into a shopping plaza. They pulled up right beside me and just before the window gunman shot, I plowed into them. The truck veered off and viciously smashed into the front windows of a Best Buy. I skidded to a stop, jumped out and ran to the SUV. I used the SMG I still had on me and wasted the four guys inside, then raced into the store and ran straight for the electronic section, grabbed one of their internet connected laptops and instantly started typing this contest entry.
