Fun story about coyotes

Coyotes

by Cecilia A Heiskary

Coyotes off in the distance

Hear them howl

They are very persistent

And into something foul

Sending in the bait dog

To capture their next meal

Running fast, and tripped over a log

Get up, because I know the deal

The wind picks up

Coyotes get a scent

Run up on the pup

He kicks them and leaves a dent

The owl joins in and hoots

My dog runs away

The owl is in cahoots

My dog doesn’t want to play

The coyotes howl, because of a kill

The creatures of the night know the deal

The owl has had his fill

He doesn’t want to become the next meal

Quiet is the night

Creatures go to sleep

The coyotes end the fight

The quiet of the night runs deep

I hear coyotes howling out here where I live. This is just a fun poem I wrote.
