The Spirit of Halloween

by Peter Jarvis

The air feels crunchy, a shivering breeze,
As shadows lengthen 'neath the trees.
A moon hangs high, a ghostly gleam,
And the wind whispers a haunted scream

A crumbling house, moans and groans
And shadows dance like crunching bones
A cobweb hangs, a ghostly scene
Horrors await, as yet unseen

A pumpkin grins, with candle bright,
A sinister spectacle in the fading light.
Costumes bright, now laughter begins
As Halloween's magic, joy it brings.
