When I was new and still a babe,

my mother planted the first seed.

In time she knew my faith would grow,

a precious gift to meet my need.

God took the seed and watered it,

and day by day I understood

that faith could take all fear away,

replacing it with something good.

God knew I needed faith confirmed.

I had to know that it was real.

A miracle performed for me

erased my doubt and sealed the deal.

A storm that could have claimed my life

took me aloft without one scratch,

and gently placed me back on earth.

God’s grace is something man can’t match.

Throughout my life, I’ve felt His love.

His strength to help my heartaches cease.

I hold His hand in troubled times.

He comforts me and gives me peace.

I need to know when my time comes

for me to leave this Earthly sphere,

He’ll hold me tightly in his arms

and whisper there is naught to fear.
