Sometimes Happy

I'll tell you all what brings me joy
and hope that some agree.
I like to join the daily prompts
that help to challenge me.

My mind is full of thoughts in rhyme
where contests wake my muse.
I only wish that I could join
the contests that I choose.

The reason that I stay on here...
competing for the prize.
It's not for stars or praise or fame
or friends or otherwise.

The competition that I crave
is why I pay my dues.
You take my cash yet limit me
at what my heart pursues?

Because I've won a simple prompt
within these thirty days
I'm not allowed to play each game?
There's questions I will raise.

But, luckily, today I can.
Essential but it's small.
What brings me joy is joining prompts...
when I can join them all.
