A Poem For My Aphrodite

by Jackson Goodall

Every man wants to write a love song for their Aphrodite

But you’re the only goddess that deserves a melody

I put you on a marble pedestal

A sculpture of beauty, I call

And if Rome were to fall

Only you could rebuild it

Beautiful and tall

Every man wants to write a love song for their Aphrodite

But you’re the only goddess that deserves a melody

With just a look you blow me away

You can mould my heart like clay

The battles I fight

Can only be proof of my love

For my Aphrodite

If a simple man

Can find a goddess like you

Then there’s hope for everybody

But there’s no Aphrodite like you

Every man wants to write a love song for their Aphrodite

But you’re the only goddess that deserves a melody

The only goddess I pray to

Is you

And I pray too

That all my praying is enough for you

For your divine love to shine through

Onto me
