A No-Birthday for Father Flaps

Happy 39th Again, Kimbob

by Debi Pick Marquette

This year I told Kimbob that he'd be on my birthday list

He says he doesn't celebrate, so his arm I would twist

But then he said "Maybe one verse", but I don't listen well

We'll call it a no-birthday, and about him I will tell

*

He jokes his mom almost forgot him at the hospital

Poor little orphan Kimbob, how he tells it's comical

He says that 36 times now he has been 39

Jack Benny never got as many years from that old line

*

He is the famous Father Flaps, it came from guys at work

His poetry is fun and often has a touch of quirk

He knows all of the walking trails, he walks them everyday

He loves to play guitar in church, for anyone he'll pray

*

We may call it no-birthday, but there's more to celebrate

In the last seven months, in miles he's walked 308

He's from New Brunswick, Canada; its far to the northeast

Where you can always find a place that serves a seafood feast

*

I'm proud to say this man is loved by everyone he knows

And with his lovely wife, Judy, they'll snuggle when it snows

He lives up there with moose and deer and many lakes with fish

Please give Kimbob a 39th NO-Happy Birthday Wish
