Dawn Prayer

In the wee hours of the dawn

I pray in anticipation of a golden day

filled with the vibrant colors of joyous humanity,

a day without pompous politicians plotting

a day of gentle gestures, generosity for all

I pray in hopes the darkness

that has taken hold of men's souls

will be vanquished by heavenly light,

that children can be free to grow without the taint

of hatred passed down through generations

of lost spirits trapped in fear

In those few moments as the dawn announces the day

I bow in humility to my Creator and seek His Blessing

to live and witness His Creation finally finding Peace.
