Come warble the struggle tune
A poetry battle
Come rap with me
Break harmony
Scribbled a jam
In poetry slam
Through the beats
That pulse the streets
On a mic drop
Without a flop
From north to south
Shooting our mouths
Bursting in rhymes
That poverty ain't a crime
To funk the slums
Spitting rhythms
Come off the dome
As hammering the homes
In the uphill struggles
Of poetry battles
All being sung
Off the tongues
Around fried chickens and Kool-Aid
Without throwing shades
On the truce slanged
By local gangs
Fine tune lyrics
Down to the basics
Talking about scars
And turf wars
Wronging off the wrongs
Settling conflicts in songs
There we venture to front
Pulling this stunt
Dressed in sagging pants
As we come to vent
And clearly defined
What's in our minds
A stand in the gap
Turning around our caps
The hoe avenue peace meeting
Of a hip pop scene
Taking a pop
At exposing the bent cops
Upon a lip to slay
Dissed in clever says
In the Americas
All wearing same color of bandannas
Is what Uncle Sam bestirred
Trying to polish a turd
In hand a fat reef
Bringing about our beefs
And from the powers at be
Demanding equality
On those rights they speak
We ain't getting a tweak
By this act of freestyle
Put the system on trial
For being two faces under one hood
As we strengthen the brotherhood
With words that give a damn
Not to make us account for every gram
Let this poem up at 'em
Be more than response to the mayhem
Move the spirits that won't be broken
For when the voices of artists are spoken
Matter not the prejudice
There is no such thing as a ridiculous injustice
