You pay the price for nothing

Convicted for Nothing

Convicted for Nothing

My heart falls to my feet
While the knife stabs in my back
I don’t understand all this deceit
Where is the loyalty you now lack

I devote my time, my heart, and soul
Into whatever you might need
You treat me like I’m on parole
No matter the intention of the deed

I’ve since driven myself crazy
Trying my best to make ammends
For a crime I still view hazy
Your distorted memory never bends

Innocent until proven guilty
Is not considered in your plan
One day I bloom, next day I’m wilty
An innocent victim since it all began

My love is unconditional
I’ve forgiven when unnecessary
But you diagram of love is three demensional
Am I your mom or your adversary

I take whatever you’re willing to give me
And I cherish it in every way I can
If you release the hate, then you might see
You’re loved from the ground to God, take my hand

There’s nothing that can spark a deviation
I will be there until the day that I die
My legacy will be my determination
To prove my loyalty was never a lie.

Betrayal Poetry Contest contest entry

Sometimes people with a mental illness make up their own version of their life so that it best suits them. Meanwhile, innocent individuals are persecuted their entire lives for something that never happened. Yet, the mentally ill participant fully 100% believes that it did. In the end, there's nothing you can do to right it. You just have to suck it up and love them despite it, and it's very, very hard on your heart and spirit.
