Persephone, Goddess of Spring

by Katiemae1977

I feel like the goddess of the spring
When 'ere I see a crocus peeking through
And warm winds call the birds to come take wing
As life around us breathes a breath anew

Persephone come bring your subtle wares
Your daffodils and scents of lilac too
Your blushing romace captures and ensnares
the hearts of all that spring has offered you

I feel as though I'm bathed beneath the sun
And rinsed in raindrops, pure as virgin tears
As life blooms 'round me fresh and satin spun
I praise rebirth and all that it endears

Beneath her verdant halo worship spring
She comes with all the pleasures she can bring
