Deputy Gomez saw it clearly.

The shimmering disc, hovering, sustained a lightning strike and crashed to earth.

He gunned the jeep across the sand to the stricken craft.

Two dwarf hominids, wearing silver protective clothing, had been ejected.

One was lifeless. The other groaned and twitched.

"Jesus! Call it in Lomax."

Pause.

"Sheriff says Washington knows. Instructs incineration, Priority A."

"No way! One of them's alive. That's murder."

Pause. Lomax breathes deeply.

"Sorry. This is too big."

Lomax pulls his gun, shoots Gomez in the head.

Spattered with blood, Lomax spreads gasoline across the scene.

Throws a flaming rag.

Whooosh!
