Truly an end...
An End to the Noise

Breezes whisper as my sobs echo. Crows and jays argue amongst the treetops. Mom calls, incessantly, but the chasm below beckons louder… offering to silence the team’s laughter in my head.
Mom again, closer now, as their laughter’s volume increases. But the chasm’s call offers peace.
Quietly. Tearfully. I answer.
