The Watermelon Days

 
Fantasy is in bloom
in every heart
In these ~
The watermelon days
 
June brides glisten with innocence 
Gleaming beneath golden beams of sunlight
 
Hot sand sends beach patrons hopping along
Creating a dance of the season
 
Amusement parks attract young lovers
Sharing rides and sticky cotton candy bliss
 
 Youngsters splash at the local pool, their joyous laughter tickling the cloudless sky
 
Ice cream trucks blare their dulcit tune
as children race towards their creamy favorites
 
Babbling brook bubbles with secrets as wading children let minnows swim between their toes
 
Crickets serenade the evening as porch swing sweethearts share a late summer's kiss
 
All these and many more highlight the crown jewel of all seasons in these ~
The watermelon days
