Drama Queen

Once my mighty roar would enthrall
my crushing jaw and huge paws
would draw large crowds
but now folks are all
flocking to meet that small ball
of lard.

Fancy being dethroned
by an overgrown
dog of all things.

This is a nightmare
being bested by that tiny pest
It's causing me much stress.

Am I or am I not the king ?

Oh dear husband of mine , give it time
and you will be back in the limelight.

As soon as the bouncy pig
outgrows her cuteness
people will lose interest.

Mark my word, humans
are such fickle beings.

So enough bitching
and wasting time
thinking about
that klein water equine.

Stop acting like a clown
and wipe away that frown
no need to have a
nervous break down
just start the countdown.
 
Unaware of the melodrama
in the lion's den,
baby hippo Moo Deng,
normally a bundle
of joy splashing in puddles,  
was dealing with a problem.
 
Again folks were using food
as darts to wake her up
while she was snoozing
in her pen. 
 
Mother, why do Humans
do such mean acts ?
Sadly Baby, some are brats
who have not learned yet
that we have feelings too
and we deserve respect.
 
Luckily sweetheart
you will grow fast
and by next year the hype
will have passed
and we'll have peace at last.
