Perform

by Marion Issa

See her dance unto the rostrum
Frabric flourish blossoming dress
Toes tip tap timed to perfection
Smile so moreish, dainty, finesse

Jump n toss, wobble and fumble
See her dance unto the rostrum
Silly flails, twirls of cloddish joy
Rhythm off, misstep and tumble

Skipping beats, hardly a trotter
Silent gawks, as ghostly whispers
See her dance unto the rostrum
From the seats, an ant in water

Out of breath, lungs spilling lather
Weak n frail , the end of dancer
Urged to death, maggots gather n
See her dance unto the rostrum

Write a Quatern contest entry

The audience, even if for a moment, were disappointed with her dancing, before baring witness to a heart attack.

No one can dance forever, take a break
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
