Love After Divorce

Happiness is a distant dream.

You will never hear me say

I believe in second chances.

I am undeserving of happiness.

It is foolish to think

I can heal.

I am convinced

Love is departed from my life.

I cannot imagine

I am worthy of affection.

It’s clear to me

Happiness will not return.

I do not believe

Love can be found again.

I know that

love has left me forever.

While I may believe

my best days aren’t behind me.

I am certain

that there is no hope for me.

But though I may feel

I am not worthy of love.

Still, there is no denying

those feelings will someday end.

It is impossible to think

that hope is stronger than despair.

But I know

I may not feel love again.
