Another Unknown Soldier 1968

Green locusts whirl and flap above.
It's a long way from Chicago, doves.
Out here, the war they all speak of
can make you scream for mothers' love.
Through muck and mud. I stay alive.
My life is each day I survive. 
They open up. I shove and dive.
I don't think I'm...........................




It was the helicopter war. It was the rock 'n 'roll war. It was the war where people I knew came back changed or maimed or not at all.
