A bluebird found its final resting place on my porch.

Beautiful Bluebird

by Khobe Saari

A bluebird came to my home to die. Perched, breathing heavy, he knew his time was coming. He stayed from morning 'til night. Before the night fell I kissed him, and told him to fly eternally to the afterlife. On the morning he fell still, passing in the night. His head resting on the surface where his last breath was drawn. I dug a grave for his body and placed him there.

When my time comes let it be the same.

I wish to know my last breath awaits the night, and to fall into an eternal slumber. May my loved ones kiss me and wish my peace in the afterlife. Bury me in a place to be forgotten and swallowed up by the Earth. My body like the bluebirds to become one with this place, and may our souls fly eternally as he once flew to his final resting place.

Rest in peace beautiful bird.
