The body through anxiety

Separation

by Marion Issa

Beneath a frozen lake, the sun can pierce, yet drowned to darkness

Cyanide is sweet, bitter is the skin

A helicopter's whir can make the heart beat desolate

Glass refined to sand, all encompassing, dancing beneath skin

Torn apart, wasting, dry rocks petering water

Succumb to earth, fostering worms Trojan

Silent whistles oscillate within wet chambers

Breathe

Smog choking flames

Glitter dispersed in oil

Avalanche shrouds skies, beckoning for snow

And again

Everlasting sand, gravity ceased, sound dissipates

Breathe

At last, air again

A Milestone Post

My writing style is quite vague because I like how interpretation can finish a piece. Seperation is the name, as a couple reasons, anxiety caused by seperation, a feeling of seperation from the world, the feeling of body parts all working separately. Some lines are directly referencing the body, while others are more abstract ideas of anxiety
