It took a while to get past our...

Rocky Start

When we met the stars aligned,
Cupid's arrow was inclined,
Sparks were flying, oh so hot...
It was love at first sight...NOT!
 
You were arrogant, it's true,
I was quite annoyed with you.
Handsome, yes, but so aloof,
didn't like you, that's the truth.
 
You thought you were all that...and chips!
Confidence dripped from your lips.
You walked just like you owned it all,
I sometimes wished you'd take a fall.
 
Everyday, your face I'd see,
working in security.
Perhaps, you had disliked me too,
looked right through me, you would do.
 
Cleaning offices all night,
at the window, I'd catch sight
of you walking down below,
I would watch you as you'd go.
 
Then one day, you came around,
started talking and I found...
You weren't so bad after all,
it's then, I'd begin to fall.
 
There was so much more to you,
I found out, you liked me too.
Years have passed, we're still together,
there is nothing we can't weather.
 
At first sight, I loved you not,
but in Love's Web, I got caught.
Isn't it funny how things work out?
Now YOU are what life's about.
