The Three-Syllable Blues

by jim vecchio

Such cute clouds

Swim over you

Floating there

In the blue

Blue all over

In the air

Peaceful, sweet

No nightmare

Blue surrounds

Our small town

Where those clouds

Soon will drown

Soon turquoise

Then it pales

With dark blue

Here comes hails!

The stars rise

Over you

Tasks put off?

-The moon’s blue!

Gal, two guys

Fight over you

Now one is

Black and blue

With eyes more

Blue than surf

They both look

Like a smurf

Wash those clothes

Wring them again

All that blue’s

Blue Again!

Your pen writes

Better, too

Just use ink

Colored blue

Blue’s the one

That’s the thing!

-You ain’t blue,

You’re nothing!
