gorilla be nimble

ol fruit
stand

with a
nice big
smile

and at
5 o'clock
sharp,

doors
close up
tight

light
goes out:
*click*

watch
the exit:
*slams*

in hot
pursuit:
go ape!

catch
a banana
quick --

chase,
tire out,
seize

gut it,
no mercy,
alive

No Rules Poetry Contest contest entry


I saw a bunch of entries under a club event for "an atom poem". The concept is linked stanzas where each stanza has 5-7-5 CHARACTERS (instead of syllables). I am not in the club, but decided to give it a shot for fun.
