The moon creature

by Chip Whitley

Somewhere on the moon

Where no one dares loom,

Stands a creature that’s tall and discrete.

Whenever it's clever it’ll us'ly endeavor to gobble up feet as a treat.

Lick listened to the talking space meat:

“We shouldn’t push further,

The rover’s turned over,

And soon we will run out of air!”

When the moment was ripe,

Lick would then snipe,

The spacemen he caught unaware.

For the dark side will surely,

Make spacemen fare poorly.

When they find that while screaming,

The creature was dreaming,

Of spacemen who run out of air.

The lickspittle dragon,

Had filled up its flagon!

The spacely rendition,

Them fleeing their mission,

Had tuckered our lunar friend out.

Lick’s hunger receded,

Twas all that was needed,

One day he sure hopes to try trout.

The Opportunity Sea,

Then a quick spot of tea,

Lick left as he grizzled his snout.

What a strange group of creatures,

And with such tasty features,

From where do they hail?

Did they leave Lick a trail?

Let’s ask that blue ball and find out!
