The life cycle of a man

The Reformed Man

by Pamusart

The babe inside is growing fast.
He's ready to be born at last.
The birth is over, mama cries.
Her baby boy has pretty eyes.

The boy is growing and can see,
that books and facts will set him free.
He strives to open ev'ry door,
absorb all knowledge to its core.

The boy has grown into a man,
avoiding feelings when he can.
He wants to make a lot of cash.
Emotions go into the trash.

Retired now, he sits alone,
just hoping someone calls his phone.
The man inside himself is lost,
because he wears a cloak of frost.

Just like a bird who broke his wing,
he never felt the urge to sing.
He knows his life is almost done,
and rues the trinkets that he won.

The man is now inside his grave.
The best advice he ever gave;
don't hide yourself behind a wall,
and, never let your feelings stall.
