Poor Instructor, Worse Parent

The beauty of the sudden final in art studies is that the coward who taught the class failed to announce the date change. The comprehensive final was to test textbook material never discussed in class. Those missing the test were graded on homework, only. Tom received one of the first A's awarded by the notoriously grade-miser professor.
"What's your GPA, Tom? You know if you lose your scholarship you're outta here, living on the street."
"3.0, Dad. This time next year I'll be an Army 2nd Louie. Care to bet whether I even send you a birthday card the rest of your life. Now that you ran Mom off, I'll be the one to pick your nursing home. When I call her later I'll be sure to tell her that you're living up to your child support commitment."
