Feelings poetry contest entry
When Children Die
There is no balm that soothes the soul
When children die
And storms of teardrops take their toll
till dust you cry
The emptiness you feel inside
Is one unending bitter ride
And you become depression's bride
when children die
There is no place your mind finds peace
When children die
And heartache signs a long term lease
while angels sigh
The sadness comes in bitter waves
to make of you despondent's slaves
And nothing soothes and nothing saves
When children die
