Ode to Southern Oregon

I am spending my summer

in my Oregon summer home

I have been spending my summers

in Medford, Southern Oregon

for several years now.

Southern Oregon

has the vibe

of old northern California

YOLO attitude

Ztude let it all hang out.

laid back mellow people

who don’t take things

or themselves too seriously.

the great wine

and the cannabis

helps mellow the mood

throughout the state.

A real foodies’ paradise

everything organic

gluten-free mecca

Fresh Brewed Kombucha.

the men all wear

a Southern Oregon uniform

beard, baseball cap

Pendleton Western shirt

blues jeans.

sneakers or boots

ties and suits

are forbidden!

Most  drive a Subaru SBU

or a pickup truck.

Listening to mellow tunes

as they drive about town.
