I’m an island surrounded by a soundless sea

There are no waves kissing my heart's shores

Only echoing memories of our happiness

My heart in a shadowy dance of loneliness

Your footfalls on my sand have blown away

I’m left with heart-breaking beats of solitude

You echo in the canyons of my mind

Recalls of our joy and laughing times

Words swirl like fireflies imprisoned in a jar

Desperate to fly and find you wherever you are

To tell of my soulful emptiness on this lonely sea

Truth is, I need you to come back and rescue me

Please, come and answer my heartfelt plea

You alone can end my ravaging loneliness -

Please, can't you forgive me and love me again?
