How do you know when a politician is lying?

Promises, Promises

by Tom Horonzy

Vote for me and I'll set you free,
taxing the rich to end poverty.
Like Robin Hood's band,
I'll extend you a hand
til 'they file for bankruptcy.

Party Pooper #2 writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt

Write a limerick on any political topic. Humor and wordplay are encouraged. Non-blind contest. Your limerick must follow aa-bb-a rhyming. You may have more than one stanza as long as each stanza follows the correct format.

Example written specifically for this contest:

There once was a trucker named Tucker
Who offered his viewers some succor:
When your party lacks class,
Don't take a hard pass;
Instead, clench your buttcheeks and pucker.

Here is a resource with tips on limerick cadence.
