Writing Prompt
An Essence poem captures the core or essence of a moment, feeling, or image in a brief, vivid way.

Required Structure
Two lines
Six syllables per line
Each line contains an internal rhyme
The lines end with a rhyme

Example
Glimmer's shimmer, day's rays,
Soft breeze, leaves tease and sway.

Example Explained
Internal rhymes:
In the first line: "Glimmer's" and "shimmer"
In the second line: "leaves" and "tease"

Ending rhymes:
The first line ends with "rays"
The second line ends with "sway"


Write an essence poem. This is a poem of two lines with six syllables per line, each containing an internal rhyme and an ending rhyme.

Example
Glimmer's shimmer, day's rays,
Soft breeze, leaves tease and sway.

The internal rhymes are:
"glimmer's" and "shimmer" in the first line.
"leaves" and "tease" in the second line.

The ending rhymes are: "rays" and "sway."
