Twin rivalry

Siblings

by BermyBye50

In their cozy suburban home, twins Alex and Emma constantly argued about who was their parents' favorite.

"Mom always bakes your favorite cookies," Alex teased.

"Well, Dad always takes you fishing," Emma shot back.

One evening, overhearing their squabble, their mom called them into the living room. "You two are equally loved," she said.

Dad nodded. "Exactly. We have different ways of showing it, but it doesn’t mean we love one more than the other."

Alex and Emma exchanged glances, understanding dawning.

"Truce?" Alex asked, extending his hand.

"Truce," Emma reluctantly agreed, smiling.

Their rivalry melted away into shared laughter.
