The actress reminisces

The Actress

by Pamusart

Her open eyes just can’t believe
the kids that play outside with fire
The truth that she cannot perceive
is she’s the one that they desire

Their faces show complete disdain
and through her window rocks were thrown
This actress feels a lot of pain
so late at night she's heard to moan

The pain is all inside her head
Its cause, the doctors couldn’t find
They said that she should stay in bed
She always feels a step behind

Her face was shown around the world
but now it’s gotten very old
Her hair was straight but now it’s curled
These children are so very bold

The kids all look so innocent
In truth they're aching for a fight
Her mind has never voiced consent
The kids have moved just out of sight

Her eyes remember moonlit nights
Her ears remember ocean waves
The olden days just seemed so right
She’s lost attention that she  craves

The children only come at night
with no respect for her at all
Her glasses now allow for sight;
The children look so very small

She barely keeps her self control
The children play inside her mind
They’re trying hard to reach her soul
Defenses are so hard to find

The window's fixed by afternoon
Her crazy mind is struggling hard
She feels as if in some cocoon
Her soul still needs a body guard

At last inside her mind she knows
that children there are from her past
Her mind is merging with her soul
to find  a peace she hopes will last

Oh, if we could all be forever young

They always say that windows are the entry to the soul

The children are all inside her head acting as they did when they starred in movies with her

None of them are real. She’s just choosing to remember the movies were the kids were not nice.

That’s why her window was solid because it had never been broken. It was a window in the movie that was been broken.
