Mother Nature in all her splendor

A World of Colours

by tempeste

Mother Nature mesmerises
with her glowing Northern Lights,
peacock hued ribbons of chiffon
ripple and illume arctic nights

Mother Earth holds us spellbound
and makes our hearts pound
when she spouts and spills
fiery lava down the mount.

In the lowlands of Holland
tourists are dazzled
by endless rows of tulips on show.
These vivid, multihued tableaux
resemble giant rainbows.

Spring excites and ignites hearts
blushing blossoms bloom
with their sweet scent
the air, they perfume.

Our pearly moon never
fails to make us swoon.
Once a month her milky
glow shimmers on the lagoon;
Enraptured, a lover keeps his
sweetheart tightly spooned.

In scorching summer,
seas glisten by day;
come dusk blood stained
horizons are on display.
About this magical sight, poets pen
while artists recreate on canvas
those soothing moments of zen.
