The Eleventh Hour

The demon was about to claim the junkie’s life when an angel appeared.
“Spare him and return to Heaven,” the angel said.
The demon asked, “Why would HE do this for me?”
“Compassion,” the angel answered.
“Not for this worthless sack of excrement!” the demon hissed.
The angel peered into the addict’s face.
“I’m sorry!” the druggie slurred.
Suddenly, the demon took the man’s life.
Amid cheers, the angel returned to Heaven with a soul.
