Not all memories are pleasant

Icy Memory

by LeeAnn Kay

Flashbacks flash,
Ashes to ash,
Decaying in death,
From a too trusted breath.

Thief of joy;
Memories.
Just destroy
My reveries.

A simple label of schematic,
With a tiny dose of tragic,
As if it wasn't quite traumatic,
And well beyond a little graphic.

I stow my tears,
And call them spice.
With my heart,
They stay on ice.
