Attached is a well remembered analogy.
Mum's Words
What can I say about jealousy that you do not know?
except my observation that it teaches you to grow
we have all been victims of it, knowing it's a curse
which, of the recipient and the aggressor, comes off worse?
It conveys a message through those steely eyes
you have something they want, you, the aggressor will despise
always wondering how they can their goal win
monumental success mated with jealousy is slim.
I have feasted on jealousy 'I wish I had this or that'
or flown into a rage like a proper spoiled brat
or said things that Mum in her own Scots way
would advise sweetly and contempt display
'Jealousy is in there, love, beyond a doubt
you cannot boost your candle flame by snuffing another's out."
