Aussie Rules

by magic dragon

On a cold winter day,

two footy teams

run onto the oval,

footy boots tied tight,

both teams prepared

to put up a fight,

their teams’ colours

put to the test,

their fans dressed

to look their best.

Team flags flutter-

Choir of good on ya mate!

heard through gusty winds,

as the ball flies upward

towards the cloudy sky,

silver whistle blows.

Hands held high,

challenging each other,

Both men battle

for the red football.

A bounce on the run, a hand pass, to kick a goal, is the way to play,

for the team to win the game for the day.
