The pain in my lower back, abdomen, and bone crushing agony my body endured during natural childbirth quickly subsided with one final push. My entire body completely exhausted from hours of being in labor, I drenched in sweat, and my inside sore and unbearable stabbing pain, but when I heard my baby boy crying for the first time, none of it mattered.
Once the nurse wrapped my newborn son in a blanket, she placed his tiny body in my welcome arms. Just one look at my son, all the pain and suffering I endured bringing him into this world, I knew in my heart that my baby is worth every moment of it all.
"It's finally nice to meet the one that has been kicking me nonstop in the ribs these pass few months," I whisper gently before placing a quick kiss on his little forehead.
My son fluttered his eyes at me, listening to the sound of my voice as I spoke to him, and it warmed my heart to know that my baby recognized my voice. Before I let the nurse take him back to check him over and give him his first bath, I looked at his hands and feet.
Ten fingers.
Ten toes.
A warm, tender feeling touched my heart to know that my baby has ten fingers and ten toes.
He's healthy.
My sweet baby is the greatest accomplishment I have ever done in my life. For once in my life, I have someone to love, that will love me back.
I loved my sweet boy before he was even born, I love him this very moment, I will love him forever, and I will love him every second in between.
Being a wonderful mother to my boy is the greatest feeling.
